Your Dining Experience at Dixie Crossroads

Dixie Crossroads sign on Garden Street Dixie Crossroads
is famous for Shrimp --
reds, whites, pinks, brownies, "hoppers" and, of course, our trademark specialty ROCK SHRIMP, the sweetest little delicacy to ever come from the ocean. "Why, this tastes more like Lobster!" is the comment we hear most.
spacer A family at dinner While fresh NATIVE FLORIDA SEAFOOD is indeed our signature serving,
it is only part of your experience at DIXIE CROSSROADS. The adventure starts the moment you pull into our parking lot. Lush gardens, fishponds, nature walks, fountains, wildlife murals, waterfalls, butterflies, even pavilion, local artists . . .   all five senses will know you're in for more than a great meal! Our fresh shrimp comes from a fleet of over 25 full time commercial shrimpers. The trip from the dock to our 30,000 square foot processing plant, to our kitchen and your table - is a mere 20 minutes. For generations, our family has procured and prepared Florida's finest, locally harvested seafood. On any given day, we serve over half a ton of ROCK SHRIMP, a dozen at a time. TABLE WIDTH= You might be hard pressed to find any "local" in greater Central Florida that doesn't dine with us regularly. Of course, we also have great tasting char-grilled steaks, Maine lobster, prime rib, snow crab, stone crab (in season), honey mustard chicken, full bar, great service and other specialties, but seasonal shrimp is what we're famous for . . . and let me tell you about our corn fritters.
Entertainment takes place on the porchDixie Crossroads Trivia

Our family welcomes your family ...

The Thompson family of Dixie Crossroads

Our family came to Florida 6 generations ago the way many settlers and Native Americans did, down the St. Johns River ... From the mid 1800's through the early 1900's, both sides of the family migrated to the area now known as Titusville.

As a family of boat builders and fishermen, we also migrated to the restaurant business.

Our current patriarch, Rodney Thompson, built the original DIXIE CROSSROADS literally with his bare hands in an orange grove back in the early 1980's. After several renovations, Rodney thinks we "might be about done now."

The ROCK SHRIMP story is equally compelling, as the family literally created a product and a demanding market for this historically little known oddity from the Atlantic Ocean, harvested just offshore of the KENNEDY SPACE CENTER.Photographing the family

You've never heard of ROCK SHRIMP? Ask Rodney's daughter, Laurilee, to tell you the story the next time you dine with us. You'll laugh and cry at the same time, much the same as out family did when this whole thing started. Oh ... And don't forget that family photo opportunity with Mr. and Mrs. Rock.

From our humble beginnings as a 35 seat diner almost 20 years ago to our current spacious 13,000 square foot, 450 seat landmark, you are assured of one of the most interesting and engaging dining experiences of a lifetime.
